Job Description
The primary function of the Maintenance Mechanic is to ensure a safe work environment and to rebuild, repair, install and maintain all mechanical equipment in the facility including the infrastructure of the site.
Responsibilities
- Read and understand blueprints, schematics and work orders for adjusting, overhauling or repairing equipment and machinery including pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
- Able to thread, cut, weld, drill and prepare materials to complete work assignment
- Can work alone or as part of a crew in/outdoors at the site and may be required to work from ladders, scaffolding, lifts, roofs and elevated platforms
- Will work with the I/E dept on motors, agitators, pumps, values, actuators but will not be limited to this
- Responsible for keeping maintenance shop and work area clean and clear of debris and in an orderly manner during shift as well as prepping for the next shift to follow
- Will work with/ around hazard materials and will be responsible for wearing the correct PPE necessary to preform work in a safe manner
- Will preform preventive, corrective and precision maintenance
Required Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 5 years in manufacturing with multi-craft experience (electrical, mechanical)
- Strong troubleshooting abilities and hands-on experience
- Must be able to perform basic mathematical functions and understand units of measure (English and Metric)
- Must have the ability to physically maneuver in tight, high, or difficult spaces
