Job Description

Grace Chattanooga is currently seeking a Process Technology Engineer to support Chemical Catalysts segment by leading new product scale-up, managing cost-savings projects, and providing plant support.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ability to work safely in an industrial atmosphere and adopt a strong safety culture
  • Work with R&D team to develop robust, cost effective, and efficient processes for new products
  • Align R&D and Manufacturing in order to produce prototype alloys for product development
  • Lead trials of new products by conducting appropriate Process Hazards Analysis, compiling technical documentation/SOPs, supporting Management of Change, and providing direct unit support
  • Own commercialization process by completing technology transfers in order to drive products to routine operation
  • Identify and lead productivity projects geared at cost savings for commercial products
  • Provide process expertise to assist in troubleshooting requests from manufacturing team
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to keep R&D, PT, marketing, and manufacturing groups aligned on priorities and progress

Required Skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels within the organization
  • High initiative and ability to learn
  • Organized and detail oriented with strong project management skills
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite

Required Experience

  • B.S. Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a chemical processing plant

Preferred Qualifications

  • Batch operations experience
  • Six Sigma Certification
