Job Description

Grace is searching for a Site Systems Administrator for our Chattanooga, TN site, who will report to the IT Manager - Service Delivery.  This person will be responsible for the operation and support of Information Technology services at one or more Grace manufacturing locations in the region as directed by the IT Manager - Infrastructure & Operations. Person will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of Information Technology at these sites to ensure compliance and consistency with all company policies, processes, procedures and other standards and regulations.

Provides Helpdesk support, troubleshooting and expertise to users of PCs and related peripherals and phone systems (land line and mobile).  Manage servers, PCs and peripheral hardware, local and wide area networks, network communications equipment and related asset inventories. Other responsibilities include:

  • Manage PC and peripheral hardware and software, local area network hardware and software, PBX and phones
  • This includes all personal computers, servers (Physical/Virtual), printers, portable devices and infrastructure software, Cisco LAN equipment
  • Responsible for receiving, configuring, testing, and installing new desktop, notebook, switches , access points , phones and for assisting with the testing and installation of new or upgraded versions of software
  • Local Telecommunications services coordination which include management of those services.  This include telephone systems, wireless telephones, radios and other communication devices.   This also include all data communications, voice mail, paging, modem and fax services.  Services must be coordinated with the appropriate functional owners of the service within the company
  • Support of Laboratory Systems and associated equipment.   Assistance with troubleshooting and configuration of laboratory equipment.   This requires close coordination and a working relationship with the Laboratory Manager and laboratory equipment vendors. (encourage to work with vendors on lab h/w BUT interfacing with PC, security, etc requires our direction, knowledge, etc)
  • Responsible for the connections and services for all PC/ Telephone related hardware moves, adds, and changes.
  • Circuit installs, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Tech support for Avaya installs and maintenance
  • Participate on projects

Required Qualifications

  • Requires minimum 5 years’ experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Intel based PCs, Servers & Cisco Network equipment.
  • Preferred Bachelor’s degree in related field
  • Experience in SAN, NAS, VMware, Xerox Printers, Data Protector and Veeam.  
  • Broad range of experience should include extensive knowledge of Intel based hardware; Microsoft based operating systems (Windows 10, 2016 and 2019) and Office software (O365).
  • Telephony experience, including VoIP, AVAIA PBX, and Smartphones
  • Cisco networking technologies (Switches and Meraki Access Points)
  • Cable experience familiarity with voice and data cabling requirements (CAT6 and fiber)
  • Extensive knowledge of Information Technology deployed in a manufacturing environment
