Job Description

We are in search of a Production Operator who will report to our Shift Supervisor in our Baton Rouge plant. The Production Operator performs both routine and non-routine plant duties to safely operate process equipment to meet EH&S, production, yield and quality requirements. This role requires the ability to work a 12-hour, rotating shift schedule that includes nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.

Responsibilities

  • Execute/Take ownership for train processes.
  • Completely fill out procedures and datasheets (thoroughly, legibly, and accurately)
  • Fill out turnover, in detail, everyday
  • Fill out/assist with permits, LOTO, etc.
  • Complete routine checks on scooters, forklifts, etc.
  • Be familiar with general policies and procedures
  • Be familiar with the basic plant systems/utilities (jacket utilities, steam, nitrogen, air, sumps, etc.)
  • Complete 5S Checklists for each train
  • Keep area organized and in good working condition
  • Verify labels on containers are complete and accurate
  • Pick up and dispose of samples
  • Bring to attention, issues with equipment and safety hazards
  • Complete monthly CBTs
  • Complete procedure reviews

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 1-3 year of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment
