Job Description
WR Grace is a leading Manufacturer of Specialty Chemicals and is seeking a Sr. Technician Specialist for the Analytical Services Center at our Baltimore/Curtis Bay, MD Plant.
Responsibilities
- Performs chemical analyses and scientific tests using both routine and special techniques in compliance with all safety standards.
- Collects, analyzes and processes laboratory samples.
- Records results of tests, organizes data, performs advanced computations, and prepares reports and analyses using standard procedures and guidelines.
- Installs, operates, maintains and repairs laboratory test equipment, apparatus, systems and supplies.
- Provides technical product support to customers.
- Provides advance product knowledge, assists in trouble shooting, start up, and proper application.
- Active participation in required local safety program, along with the ability to work safely and maintain a clean and orderly lab environment.
- Responsible and held accountable for compliance with all Critical Life Safety Policies, Environmental, Health and Safety training, policies and procedures.
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years related technical experience.
- The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and interpersonal skills with knowledge in advanced chemistry, math, and computers.
- Holds safety as a top priority while working in a team setting.
- Familiarity with computer programs such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Minitab.
- Self-direction and the ability to work according to priorities are necessary.
- Strong written and oral communications skills along with computer experience are important.
- Intermediate skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process.
