Job Description

W.R. Grace & Co., a leading manufacturer of specialty chemicals, has an immediate need for a Reliability Engineer at the Cutis Bay site. The Reliability Engineer will work to become a subject matter expert for all issues pertaining to rotating machinery in the yard including pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, gearboxes, and motors. This position will provide input on maintenance, design, and recommendations for all types of rotating equipment, systems, and parts. This role requires a detail-oriented, results-driven individual with a commitment to quality accuracy, and the ability to organize and prioritize workloads to meet goals.

  •  Serve as the rotating equipment subject matter expert and mentor the support groups associated with this equipment.
  • Provide oversight over reliability-related programs such as the lubrication program, ultrasound, vibration and condition monitoring program.
  • Provide oversight to machinery installation, troubleshooting, repair, and startup activities related to rotating equipment.
  • Establishing relationships with key technical manufacturers in the field.
  • Provide input for scopes of work related to turnarounds and work outages to ensure rotating equipment issues are resolved.
  • Develops and updates PM, PdM, and CBM routines.
  • Supports & facilitates RCA’s
  • Supports the training of site personnel
  • Ensure new equipment additions and project designs follow Grace standards, ANSI, ASME, API and OSHA.
  • Supports Purchasing/GRs/New Vendors/Req's/stores equipment repairs
  • Assists with emergencies, unplanned outages and repairs.

Required Experience

  • BS degree in Engineering (prefer a degree in Mechanical Engineering). 
  • 10+ years condition monitoring experience in heavy industry like metals, chemical, refinery or other process manufacturing industries.
  • Prefer certification per Category III ISO 18436-2 Vibration Condition Monitoring and Diagnostics or ANST Level 2 or demonstrated experience.
  • Experience with one or more formal root cause analysis methodologies. Basic understanding of metallurgy applications for rotating equipment in a chemical plant or refinery. Knowledge and use of SAP or other computerized maintenance management system. Familiarity with rotary kilns/calciners, rotary valves or belt filters a plus. #WRGSJI
