Job Description
W. R. Grace is a seeking a Quality Assurance Coordinator at our Curtis Bay site. This person will report to the Sr. Quality Manager.
Responsibilities
- Reviews in process and finished product quality; coordinates activities required for timely product disposition, including review of adherence to sample plan dispositions lots in the quality system and SAP; reconciles inventory at the time of release; creates internal CAPA for non-conforming lots; manages waiver and expedited release process
- Manages QI inventory in SAP; interacts with CSR and S&OP Groups
- Ensures compliance to ISO 9001 by supporting implementation and facilitation of continuous improvement initiatives throughout the Quality Management System (QMS) e.g. CAPA, Internal audits, QC/Lab interfaces, Document Management System (DMS)
- Supports the deployment and assessment of the QMS, including supporting the trending and data-input for key performance metrics related to the health of the QMS
- Works with Operations team by providing visibility to current and past Quality performance and supporting optimizations
- Interfaces with Directors, Managers and Operations Supervision in reference to quality issues
- Supports MOC tasks to maintain local product specifications & templates in the lab testing system (GLIMS)
- Produces Approved Manufactured Lots (AML) in accordance with specifications; produces Certificates of Analysis; serves as POC for sales and Logistics in AML and C of A issues
- Maintains records of daily product releases, production and quality critical logs, In-Process and finished product SPC/SQC charts as required by the business or plant operations
- Supports customer complaint investigation and coordinates response
- Audits existing ISO and GMP quality systems; generates CARs as appropriate; Recommends quality system improvements and assists Production departments with implementation, including Document Control and Retain Room Organization. Verifies CAR responses, prepares audit reports and tracks progress
- Interface with QC lab to insure timely response to plant analytical needs and works with Chemist
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma with proven technical inclination and a minimum of three to five years related experience (Alternatively, a STEM degree with 1-3 years experience in quality assurance, product testing and/or product specification reporting may be substituted)
- A minimum of three years of quality management systems experience - preferably in a manufacturing / chemical plant environment
- Results oriented self-starter, excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates a sense of urgency and able to adapt to fast-changing priorities. Passionate about meeting customer expectations, strong in mathematical / statistical concepts, and able to use both to act decisively using fact-based conclusions
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of ISO 9001, SPC/SQC, cGMP and Six Sigma is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software packages, particularly Excel. Minitab knowledge a plus
