Do you have experience providing project control support to Capital Project Managers to include developing master schedules, and coordinating a portfolio of projects? Do you enjoy working cross functionally with plant personnel and vendors to ensure outages are planned and successfully completed? If so, read on as Grace has an exciting opportunity at our Curtis Bay/Baltimore, MD manufacturing site. 

 

 


We're hiring a Project Control Engineer to work onsite at our Curtis Bay/Baltimore plant consisting of 6 production plants. More than half of the products manufactured here are exported at a value of approximately $150 million annually. As a Project Controls Engineer you will support the Project Management team with implementing site capital projects tracking and spend, coordinating and scheduling all active and future projects in the site portfolio, ensuring forecasting KPI’s (cost and schedule) are achieved. Further details are as follows: 

 

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Project Managers to develop and maintain project schedules, cash forecasts and data validation utilizing Accolade 
  • Actively engaging with management, maintenance, and operations to bring maximum value to the business through effective leadership of the capital project planning process
  • Develop and maintain a portfolio master schedule
  • Actively working with appropriate plant personnel regarding plant outages and managing capital project impacts
  • Review project costs and schedule to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Interface with vendors to capture design/supply/build schedules for projects to ensure timely deliverables
  • Participate in project team meetings to provide cost and schedule details

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in engineering or construction management
  • 1+ years project controls experience
  • Experience using MS Project
  • Proficient using MS office suite, to include Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong organization skills, follow up and initiative skills 
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP certification
  • Ability to create/use Pivot tables
