Job Description
W.R. Grace & Co., a leading manufacturer of Specialty Chemicals, has a need for an Operations Planner/Site MRP SME at its Curtis Bay facility. This position is responsible for performing a wide variety of planning and MRP functions for the CB MT facility as well as support site wide MRP initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Conduct all material planning activities for select unit operations
- Order all materials needed for selected production units
- Participate in the management of OOS material in cooperation with the other MT MRP planner and business product specialist
- Manages comprehensive list of all material produced with configuration and order quantities
- Collaborate with the other MT MRP controller to orchestrate back hauls of materials from the Cabot warehouse
- Provide prioritization of shipments to the logistics supervisor
- Provide leadership in month-end financial closing actions including waste accruals
- Coordinate the annual inventory audit activities
- Manage all feeds to the selected production operations
- Resolve PO and invoicing issues with internal buyers and/or vendors
- Conducts other duties as assigned
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
Required Qualifications
- BS degree in Business or STEM curriculum plus (5) years experience
- Or (10+) years’ experience in manufacturing/planning field with high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Familiarity with SAP and MRP/logistics, managing multiple workstreams/units and initiatives
- Strong knowledge of Word, Excel, Power point, and SAP
- Ability to wear requisite PPE
- Detail oriented
- Able to problem solve and troubleshoot issues independently
- Able to communicate effectively across all levels of organization
- Meet customers’ needs in a timely manner
- Work efficiently and effectively
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Work with multiple priorities in a fast paced, high demand environment
- Work in a high profile position under limited direct supervision
- Must have excellent communication (verbal and written) ability and facilitation skills
