Job Description

This position is at the Curtis Bay Site where all employees have environment, health and safety roles and responsibilities. All are responsible for achieving compliance with our EHS Policy including emergency preparedness and response as defined in site-wide and local area documentation. 

  • Serve as backup to Operations Manager.
  • Provide Operations Supervisor’s first line of support for resolving personnel and coordination issues with other functions.
  • Coordinate monthly area production planning factors with corporate S&OP.
  • Field production schedule upsets and re-balance priorities to best achieve site and area goals.
  • Develop recovery plans.
  • Aggregate and record area performance metrics.
  • Conduct regulatory reporting.
  • Conduct incident investigations.
  • Manage, schedule and coordinates area training.
  • Manage grievances.
  • Approve area maintenance work notifications with regard to quality, completeness, and priority.
  • Manage area maintenance work backlog and determine weekly scheduling.

Required Skills

  • Strong leadership skills. 
  • Maintain focus on Safety and Environmental procedures and policies in all activities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • High level of personal motivation with a drive for ownership and accountability in performance of job responsibilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment (leading and participating) with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make data driven decisions and implement recommendations.
  • Ability to learn and use Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools to improve plant operations.

Required Experience

  • BS in Engineering field (Chemical preferred).
  • 5 – 10 years minimum experience, including supervisory in a manufacturing facility.

Preferred Qualifications

  • LEAN Manufacturing knowledge is preferred.
