Job Description

The Information Technology team at Grace is seeking to hire a versatile and highly motivated OT Network Engineer to join our global team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can work collaboratively in a team environment, possess exceptional problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and refined communication skills.

 

Reporting to IT Manager IT/OT systems and residing within the Service Delivery organization, the OT Network Engineer will support the network infrastructure across all Grace manufacturing sites globally working with both IT and OT team members.

 

The Network Engineer will support the design and implementation of networking (wired and wireless) across the manufacturing environment following Grace Operational Technology (OT) networking standards. This position will have responsibility to set up and deploy industrial and commercial switches, servers, and Windows-based PCs into the manufacturing space.  The individual will test and validate new technologies in networking, working with manufacturing locations to ensure implementation of those networks is in compliance with the Grace standards. The individual will be responsible for applications that monitor the OT network and its systems. This position will provide troubleshooting and support of OT networks in concert with other members of the OT team to ensure rapid response of issues related to plant floor production networking systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide design guidance on network configurations and setups for networks in OT
  • Partner with control systems vendors, local IT and OT Team to setup, configure, and deploy new hardware installations (servers, switches, PCs)
  • Review security requirements and ensure network complies with security standards including familiarity with the Purdue model framework.
  • Evaluate switches and network for security vulnerabilities and provide solutions to resolve vulnerabilities.
  • Implement and maintain network monitoring applications.
  • Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.
  • Manage network security through monitoring and reporting network traffic, protocols, and connections.
  • Support plants with endpoint patching; evaluate vulnerabilities and communicate urgency for remediation; report endpoint patch status to management.
  • Support plants with system backups.
  • Configure and deploy appropriate group policies for endpoint management.
  • Manage endpoint security agents.
  • Develop integration with network diagnostic monitoring and analysis tools.
  • Test and validate hardware and software tools to optimize the Ethernet networks.
  • Maintain and support the adoption of network standards.
  • Troubleshoot and support OT networks.
  • Communicate clearly, in advance, to stakeholder’s reasons for making required changes.
  • Participate in Operations Technology meetings, reviews, and strategic discussions.

Required Qualifications

  • This position will require up to 25-50% travel (mostly Domestic but 1-2 times per year international). Candidates will be located at a Grace manufacturing site (Curtis Bay or Lake Charles)
  • BS or BA degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Certifications - CCNP, CCNA, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+.
  • 7-10 years of network engineering experience
  • Experience working in a Chemical Plant.
  • Network technologies and topologies (Cable standards).
  • Cisco (Layer2 and Layer3) switching and routing technologies.
  • Structured cabling for Copper and Fiber network connections.
  • Windows Server Virtualization (VMWare).
  • Server Backup (Veeam).
  • Windows Server and Client operating system.
  • Distributed Control systems knowledge and experience (Honeywell, Rockwell, Siemens).
  • Claroty and Sentinel one or any other AntiVirus solution.
  • Server and Workstation Patch Management.
