Job Description

Manufacturing Maintenance Coordinator

 

The Manufacturing Maintenance Coordinator works with a team of Engineers and Operators and provides oversight and coordinates the activities of the Operations/Maintenance interface and the utilization of cross-functional support teams, while optimizing cost, safety, and utilization of available resources.

 

The Manufacturing Maintenance Coordinator is a highly visible position and the main representative from the point-of-manufacturing in a production-centered organization for all maintenance issues. The Coordinator is vital for maintaining safety standards, optimizing resource utilization, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

 

The Manufacturing Maintenance Coordinator is onsite at the Curtis Bay plant in Baltimore, MD.  They report to the Operations Manager and follow a M-F Day shift. 

Responsibilities

  • Respond to, and ensure, timely completion of maintenance-related environmental, health, and safety issues.
  • Plan, communicate and coordinate with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, and Environmental to prioritize maintenance activities.
  • Evaluate, organize and implement maintenance turn arounds
  • Use the area work order backlog to help define look-ahead schedules for optimal execution
  • Lead weekly meetings with Maintenance to review current schedule and generate the schedules for the upcoming period
  • Apply Grace’s “Best Practice” workflows to coordinate and manage Operations/Maintenance interactions.
  • Support equipment improvement by communicating deficiencies and coordinating with the Reliability team.
  • Review notifications for accurate prioritization and data entry
  • Understand Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Support Operations with Critical Life Safety (CLS) and maintain Zero Energy surveys

Required Qualifications

  •  High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of relevant scheduling experience (Budget, Cost, Risk, Schedule, Estimating) in a manufacturing environment OR other relevant experience, such as maintenance coordination, project management, or operations
  • Demonstrated experience working in a manufacturing plant

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, carry 40 pounds, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator.
  • Ability to work in a dusty, high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years in an industrial environment, preferably a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience as an operator or in maintenance.
  • Experience in maintenance coordination, project management or operations
  • Demonstrated experience clearly and concisely communicate critical path activities, risks
  • Experience tracking metrics.
  • Proficiency with SAP
