Job Description

W.R. Grace & Co. a leading manufacturer of Specialty Chemicals has an immediate need for a Maintenance Supervisor at its Curtis Bay facility. 
 

Responsibilities

  • Areas of supervision include the following trades:
  • Multi mechanic shop, Planner, and Oilers along with contractors and others as required.   
  • Works to ensure a safe working environment for everyone
  • Actively supports Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and Security 
  • Track Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) to drive continuous improvement
  • Reviews performance of employees and works continuously to improve performance and productivity.
  • Holds employees accountable for working safely, productively, producing quality work.
  • Directs maintenance/construction activities in one of the site business units. 
  • Works closely with operations and planners to plan and schedule maintenance work.
  • Conforms to ISO 9000 and GMP (as required) standards.
  • Evaluates SAP PM requirements and helps to develop systems as required.
  • Understand, interpret and administer union contract agreement. Holds first step grievance meetings
  • Maintain and administer overtime procedures.
  • Strives to improve equipment uptime, quality and speed rates.
  • Strives to reduce maintenance cost, and ensures the timely reporting of expenditures
  • Ensures compliance with codes and standards for all work within areas of responsibility.
  • Supports maintenance excellence initiatives as required.
  • Supports capital projects as needed.
  • Supports training requirements and assists with training activities as needed. 
  • Provides lift truck training to maintenance employees (training to be provided)

Required Qualifications

  • High school degree or GED
  • Rotating and stationary equipment precision maintenance 
  • Pipe and weldment fabrication experience

Preferred Qualifications

  

  • Previous supervisory experience in a chemical facility and maintenance
  • Crane and rigging experience 
  • SAP experience 
  • Welding inspection experience
  • Managing a union workforce
  • Broad chemical plant equipment and maintenance knowledge and experience
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
