Job Description

Also known as Production Schedulers, Production Planners, or Material Planners, MRP Planners are responsible for developing daily and weekly production schedules to ensure production deadlines are met. This role involves determining material, equipment, and labor requirements, preparing status and performance reports, and resolving supply planning related issues

Responsibilities (1 of 2)

  • Develop, modify, and manage production schedules to meet business demands.
  • Evaluate purchase orders and create suitable production schedules based on material availability and production capacity.
  • Estimate the required materials, equipment, and labor to support efficient production processes and monitor inventory levels and ensure materials are consistent with production schedules.
  • Ensure production related issues are promptly captured within the production schedule and communicated to Supply Chain management Coordinate production operations in alignment with material, labor, and equipment availability.
  • Recommend solutions to reduce production costs, improve processes, and enhance product quality.
  • Adjust production schedules as needed to meet changing demands and deadlines.
  • Deliver regular updates on production progress in forums established to support Supply Chain Execution (via e-mail, scheduled meetings).
  • Communicate schedule changes effectively to relevant departments to ensure alignment.
  • Manage inventory levels, track production volumes, and monitor customer demand patterns and purchasing trends.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure timely product delivery and collaborate with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure materials sourced for production meet quality, specification, and cost-efficiency requirements.

Responsibilities (2 of 2)

  • Coordinate with suppliers, procurement, customer service, supply leads, quality, and logistics to maintain smooth supply chain operations.
  • Manage inventory issues, schedule changes, and cancellations effectively.
  • Accountable for SAP MRP data maintenance and daily system management
  • Executes monthly close-out operations and leads the preparation of close-out reports and reconciliations.

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years Business Industry Experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of planning principles, including capacity planning, demand management, and inventory control.
  • SAP experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Management,
  • Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or other relevant certifications is a plus.
  • Experience as a Production/Material Planner
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing or equivalent industry, with preference for process-style planning/manufacturing
  • Strong knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems and planning software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across functions and manage multiple priorities.

Work Environment:
This role typically operates within a manufacturing environment, requiring close collaboration with production teams, supply chain functions, and external partners to ensure the timely and cost-effective supply of materials necessary for uninterrupted production.
