Job Description

WR Grace is hiring a Logistics Supervisor out of our Curtis Bay, MD location, reporting to the Operations Manager, who will be responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Logistics and Warehouse units. The person will also carry out the supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization policies and applicable laws.

  • Assure regulatory compliance, including environmental and process safety, and a safe workplace for all employees.  Address hazards, deviations, and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Leads interviewing, hiring and training employees
  • Analyzes contractual commitments, customer specification, design changes and other data to plan and develop logistic program activities from conceptual stage through life cycle of product.
  • Develops and implements programs for production departments and field service personnel in order to resolve logistics problems ensuring contractual commitments are met.
  • Develops production plans based upon sales order status
  • Manages effective levels of inventory
  • Coordinates transportation activities and directs material relocation
  • Resolves logistics issues arising in Customer Service and Grace Distribution Services (Cabot)
  • Conducts production scheduling meeting for domestic and international sales order
  • Interacts with international business and other various customer groups to ensure customer demands are met.
  • Accountable for managing material flow in and out of SC-CB (Poly, Mag, OMC)
  • Ensures weekly labor coverage for all applicable shifts, directs and coordinates necessary overtime.
  • Manage/approval Kronos and payroll accuracy.
  • Facilitate RCAs with team.
  • Response coordination for customer complaints, conduct investigation and analysis.
  • Manages operator accountability, coaching, counseling, discipline as needed.

Required Experience

  • HS diploma or GED, 3-5 years related experience
  • This is an entry level Supervisory/management experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Extensive MS Word, MS Excel
  • SAP Inventory software, database software experience.


Work Environment

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, and may be exposed to toxic (including high and low pH) and/or flammable materials.  The employee is exposed to extreme temperatures within the working environment, including outside weather conditions.  The employee is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; potential fumes or airborne particulates; potential risk of electrical shock; and vibration.  The noise level in the workplace may be loud.
