Job Description

All employees at the Curtis Bay Site have environment, health and safety roles and responsibilities and are accountable for achieving compliance with our EHS Policy including emergency preparedness and response as defined in site-wide and local area documentation. The Jr.  Maintenance Engineer at the Curtis Bay has the following responsibilities:

  • Provides support for solving equipment maintenance and reliability issues
  • Analyzes area asset reliability data for continuous improvement processes and assists in tracking maintenance and reliability metrics.
  • Participates in Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) including GMP and PSSR
  • Manages small capital and productivity projects including contract bidding and supervision to commissioning and startup activities
  • Develops equipment maintenance plans including developing and updating PM, PdM, and CBM routines, and equipment lists in SAP, DMS, etc
  • Identifies critical spares and recommended spare parts inventory levels
  • Writes and edits SOP/work instructions
  • Supports Purchasing/GRs/New Vendors/Req's
  • Redlines Engineering Drawings and Documents and manages and catalogs engineering documents and drawings
  • Utilize analytical and engineering skills to identify and reduce / eliminate repeated equipment failures.
  • Develop skills in Maintenance Excellence initiatives to improve the overall effectiveness of the maintenance department.
  • Learn to develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Implement improvement programs based on failure data in key classes of equipment, by downtime, cost and emergency work
  • Drive asset performance towards Six Sigma level of performance

Required Experience

  • BS in Engineering  (mechanical engineering degree preferred)

Preferred Qualifications

Engineering experience preferably in manufacturing environment. Chemical plant experience is a plus.
