Job Description
The Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Supervisor oversees I&E Technicians to ensure efficient coordination of installations, maintenance, reliability and troubleshooting. The Supervisor continually upgrades Technician skills to meet the demands of new technology, instrumentation and electrical safety.
The Supervisor integrates and develops processes to meet business needs across the Curtis Bay site, manages complex issues within functional areas of expertise, is involved in long-term planning, and contributes to the overall business strategy.
This role is on-site in Curtis Bay, Baltimore, MD. Curtis Bay is a 24/7, 365 Chemical manufacturing site.
Responsibilities
- Support Maintenance Excellence and Productivity initiatives.
- Maintain timely training and compliance on all safety, health, environmental, and training initiatives.
- Supervise technicians diagnosing problems with process control and electrical systems and give directions on the repair of the system.
- Supervise maintenance of site electrical infrastructure and grounding system.
- Supervise technicians who are disassembling instruments and equipment. Inspect components for defects; repair, replace component parts and circuitry, and reassemble.
- Supervise technicians on motor control, process control, burner control, and electrical distribution devices and systems.
- Perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance as required to maintain equipment in optimal condition.
- Supervise technicians using various hardware and software technologies such as, SAP, EDMS, Data Loggers, calibrators, and Infrared Cameras
- Review employee performance and continuously work to improve performance and productivity
- Understand, interpret and administer the Union contract agreement
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Supervisory Experience in an Industrial, Manufacturing setting
- 5+ years Relevant Experience
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline
- 5+ years in an industrial environment, preferably a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Experience as an operator or in maintenance & reliability
- Experience in maintenance, reliability or instrumentation coordination, project management or operations
- Demonstrated experience clearly and concisely communicate critical path activities, risks
- Experience tracking metrics and acting on gaps identified.
- Proficiency with SAP
