Job Description

We're hiring a Facilities and Maintenance Coordinator to work at our Process Innovation & Quality Center (PIQ) located in Curtis Bay/Baltimore, MD. This site includes our Process Technology and Pilot Plant operations, along with our high-volume testing, production and R&D activities. 


  • Support the overall capital plan and service plan for the PIQ.  Manage service contracts and plan for upgrading and replacing equipment and facilities to meet the needs of internal and external customers.
  • Ensure all required regulatory/compliance activities/inspections are performed on schedule with appropriate documentation.
  • Troubleshoot facilities equipment when problems arise providing on-call 24/7 support as needed.  Analyze and document root cause of equipment failures and execute corrective actions.
  • Interface with maintenance supervisors and site contractors as required for facilities maintenance and project work in the PIC pilot plant and Analytical Services Center (ASC). 
  • Develop weekly maintenance schedule and manage backlog in coordination with the maintenance supervisor, PIC and ASC leads.  Input and manage work notifications to closure. Accountable for ensuring materials/parts are available when needed.
  • Assure regulatory and company policy compliance, including environmental and process safety, and a safe workplace for all employees.  Address hazards, deviations, and injuries in a timely manner. Manages facilities-related Safe Work Permits to closure.
  • Responsible for area equipment files including SAP PM information, PIQ labor reporting, document preparation, BOM, new equipment additions, and equipment lists.
  • Evaluate SAP Preventive Maintenance requirements and help develop and improve reliability systems.
  • Strive to reduce maintenance cost and ensures the timely reporting of expenditures to management.

Physical Requirement and Environment

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, safety-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator. 
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials, noisy surroundings, adverse temperatures, and confined and elevated spaces. 
  • Ability to lift/carry 25 lb. 
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials 

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. Degree in technical discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 5 years of related maintenance, construction or manufacturing experience
  • Experience coordinating the installation and maintenance of equipment including pumps, rotating, materials handling, gas fired equipment, electrical and instrumentation systems 
  • Effective communicate skills with the ability to work across the organization, including functional areas and groups in a pilot plant manufacturing and high-volume laboratory environment
  • Capable of leading/influencing change within organization
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities with minimal oversight
  • Ability to coordinate projects to include effectively engaging with stakeholders
  • Proficient with Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in Pilot Plant manufacturing environment.   
  • Experience using SAP 
  • Planning and scheduling work in a highly diverse operation using Union Maintenance workers and contractors
