Job Description
Facilities Technical Supervisor
The Facilities Technical Supervisor works at the combined Analytical Services Center (ASC) and the Process Innovations Center (PIC) based in Curtis Bay. ASC is a high-volume testing facility for production and research and development samples. The PIC is a process technology and pilot plant operation with technicians and engineers working together to scale up new products for large scale production in both domestic and foreign manufacturing facilities. As part of the dedicated team, which has worked for over a decade without a recordable injury, the Supervisor coordinates and oversees the maintenance of the buildings and equipment.
Facilities Technical Supervisor is on-site in Curtis Bay, Baltimore, MD and reports to the Facility Services Manager.
Responsibilities
- Manage a safe, clean, and organized environment both indoors and outdoors which is suitable for customer visits.
- Assure regulatory and company policy compliance, including environmental and process safety, and a safe workplace for all employees.
- Troubleshoot facilities equipment when problems arise providing on-call 24/7 support as needed.
- Manage facilities-related work using an internal Safe Work Permit review all work from a safety perspective with the workers before work begins and ensure the work completion checklist (closeout) is completed.
- Interface with maintenance supervisors and site contractors as required for facilities maintenance and project work.
- Evaluate Preventive Maintenance requirements and help develop and improve reliability systems.
- Analyze and document root cause of equipment failures and execute corrective actions.
- Support the overall capital plan and service plan for the Pilot Scale Plant operations and facility.
- Develop weekly maintenance schedule and manage backlog in coordination with the maintenance supervisor, Pilot Plant and Laboratory leads.
- Responsible for area equipment lists, equipment files (including electronic information), equipment bill of materials and required spares, new equipment additions, with documentation preparation as needed to support audits.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma
- 5+ years industrial maintenance or facilities experience.
- Experience with electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Experience with general building maintenance including utilities, plumbing, electrical infrastructure, pest control, and fire protection systems.
- Experience in the coordination of installation and maintenance of equipment including pumps, valves, blowers, dust collectors, HVAC systems, Instruments, burner control systems, and materials handling equipment.
- Experience with MS Office products: Outlook, Excel, Word, Power Point, and SharePoint
Physical Requirements and Environment
- Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
- Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
- Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field.
- Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience using SAP and/or eMaint.
- Experience in Pilot Plant manufacturing environment.
- Experience coordinating projects and communicating effectively with stakeholders.
- Experience handling multiple tasks and priorities with minimal oversight.
