Job Description

 

All employees have Environment, Health and Safety roles and responsibilities, and are accountable for achieving compliance with our EHS Policy, including Emergency Preparedness and Response as defined in site-wide documentation.

An I&E Tech Trainee may be required to work a rotating shift schedule, work overtime, and work holidays as business dictates. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment must be worn when required. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, in addition to, duties may be assigned:

  • Starting pay for this role is $42.04 per hour with potential to earn $43.90 per hour.
  • Operate forklift and powered industrial trucks.
  • Installs, connects, disconnects, removes, tests, calibrates, and repairs electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electronic measuring, controlling, recording, and indicating systems and equipment.
  • Disassembles instruments and equipment, and inspects components for defects; repairs, replaces component parts and circuitry, and reassembles.
  • Performs preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance as required to maintain equipment in optimal condition.
  • Assists engineers and supervisors in formulating test, calibration, repair and evaluation plans and procedures to maintain equipment and problem solve process variation issues.
  • Uses various hardware and software technologies such as, but not limited to, SAP, EDMS, Data Loggers, calibrators, Infrared Cameras as tools to support craft functionality 
  • Prepares and uses sketches, diagrams, blueprints, and other drawings.

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.

Required Qualifications

  • Candidates are expected to successfully pass testing (written and hands-on) prior to entering the Maintenance Department
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) with:
    • Minimum 5 years of related experience working with industrial instrumentation
    • Minimum 5 years of related experience working as a commercial or industrial electrician. 
    • Documentation supporting completion of acceptable training in Instrumentation (e.g. ISA CCST Level II or qualified in-house program, or Academic Degree in related technology)
    • Documentation supporting completion of acceptable training for an electrician (e.g. Journeyman program, trade school, or qualified in-house program)
