Job Description

Grace is hiring a Technician Specialist to support FCC catalyst characterization and catalytic testing in the Atyrau Ecat Laboratory. The role involves performing chemical analyses, operating and maintaining laboratory testing equipment, managing samples and analytical data, and ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards while contributing to the efficient operation and continuous improvement of laboratory processes.

Responsibilities

  • Compliance with all internal and external safety guidelines regarding occupational & traffic safety, environmental protection, according to the GRACE EHS system and and the local legal system. Prompt identification or correction of corresponding deficiencies or misconduct.
  • Possession of working knowledge and skills to perform a defined set of analytical/scientific methods or operational processes.
  • Applies experience and skills to complete assigned work within own area of expertise.
  • Works within standard operating procedures and/or scientific methods.
  • Completes standard and some non-standard chemical analysis of FCC catalysts and samples from the testing instruments and FCC plants.
  • Operates and maintains FCC testing equipment, including XRF Spectrometer, Laser Scatter PSD Analyzer, Nitrogen Sorption Analyzer and Density Analysis.
  • Performs equipment maintenance e.g. as part of the inspection equipment monitoring program.
  • Logs in customer and internal samples.
  • Measurement data entry into a laboratory information and management system.
  • Approves independently customer-relevant measurement results.

Physical Requirements and Environment

    Required Qualifications

    • B.Sc. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or local Lab Technician apprenticeship with experience
    • Knowledge of the characterization and test methods used
    • Knowledge of DIN EN ISO 9001/14001
    • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 
    • Good command of written and spoken English
