Job Description

The Oregon plant of W. R. Grace & Co. manufactures fine chemicals for a broad range of pharma, biotech and nutraceutical customers and specialty catalysts for polyolefins and specialty chemicals. We are currently seeking a Sr. Process Engineer to enhance our dynamic team.

 

Job Duties Include:

  • Evaluates and approves process design changes and specifications
  • Develops projects in collaboration with facility Process Technology, Operations, and Maintenance personnel and assures adherence to a standard Basis of Design (BOD) package which includes Scope of Work, PFDs, P&ID’s and material balances
  • Develops project studies to evaluate options (technically and economically) and recommends the best solution
  • Directing integration of process design activities and production requirements into capital projects
  • Develops front end packages
  • Developing equipment and services bid documentation and reviewing vendor quotations and issues procurement recommendations
  • Evaluates and approves design changes, specifications, and drawing releases
  • Evaluating EH&S design requirements and ensuring adherence to corporate and facility policies
  • Participates as engineering representative in PHA’s (Process Hazard Analysis)

Required Skills

  • Ability to multi-task and adjust workloads due to changes in priority
  • Strong oral/written communication skills
  • Ability to interact and work in a team environment

Required Experience

  • BS degree in Chemical Engineering with a minimum of 8+ years’ experience in process design and process engineering  work in the chemical or equivalent industry
  • Must have proven  ability to execute front end design for capital projects
