Job Description

The Oregon plant of W. R. Grace & Co. is currently seeking a Reliability Engineer to enhance our growing, dynamic team. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for implementing and maintaining best practices to continuously improve equipment reliability and control maintenance costs.  The focus of the position will be on coordinating, directing, implementing and sustaining strategies around critical reliability programs including mechanical integrity, and management of change.

 

Job Description:

  • Develops, improves, and maintains the sites maintenance and reliability programs.  Develops and implements preventative and predictive maintenance practices.  Measures success by equipment uptime.
  • Manages the site’s computerized maintenance management system
  • Manage the site’s mechanical integrity program, developing and implementing schedules and strategies from a risk-based assessment
  • Serves as the maintenance/engineering Process Safety Management (PSM) leader – assessing recommendations with sound engineering practices, identifying necessary improvements, and tracking action items to completion
  • Manage the site’s Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s) ensuring accuracy
  • Completes various small capital and maintenance projects including equipment improvements or replacements, safety or environmental projects, and any other identified improvement projects
  • Recommends equipment/processing systems’ modifications and/or replacement to improve plant performance

 

Required Skills

  • Must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Be computer literate with fluency in spreadsheets and AutoCAD
  • Must have a solid understanding of mechanical integrity programs

Required Experience

  • Bachelors of Science Degree, Engineering (Mechanical Engineering preferred). 
  • Must have 2 – 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiar with standard predictive and preventative maintenance strategies and tools, including ultrasonic testing, vibration analysis, oil analysis, remaining life, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OSHA PSM regulations and implementation preferred
  • Experience with CMMS preferred
