We are hiring a Master Data Governance Analyst/ Data Quality Analyst who will be part of our Global Integrated Supply Chain organized, based in Columbia, MD. As a Master Data Governance Analyst, you will be responsible for identifying process improvement opportunities relating to master data setup, maintenance and retirement of materials, data processing and data structure, as well as maintaining customer and material master data structure and life cycle in SAP. You will also be involved with projects, testing process changes, training users, and maintaining system documentation, along with driving the change management process. Additional responsibilities include:

 

  • Keep abreast of and appropriately leverage best practices used in the chemical industry related to master data management, data governance, and data quality.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities in current data structure, work processing, etc., and work with data submitters and users to implement the opportunities to continually improve the system and process. Analyze and address affects caused by proposed changes prior to implementation and mitigate impacts to the business.
  • Challenging the status quo for a cross-functional approach to material master data integrity
  • Ensuring best practices are followed for compliance and driving process improvements.
  • Thoroughly test process changes before handing back to users, assuring changes don’t negatively impact other data or processes.
  • Maintain SAP customer and material master data for the Integrated Supply Chain organization.  Work closely with assigned business partners/functions to validate data integrity. Master Data setup, maintenance and retirement of all materials as needed.
  • Ensure consistency of data across applications.
  • Maintain system documentation and change management processes.
  • Work with key data governance stakeholders to document, review and agree new and changed data governance policies and standards
  • Serve on teams for projects in other areas of the business to provide knowledge about master data and potential effects of the project on the current systems.
  • Provide detailed communication and support stakeholders
  • Create routine and ad hoc reports for respective Integrated Supply Chain functions, utilizing tools such as SAP and Business Warehouse.

Required Skills

  • This job requires strong attention to detail, problem solving with the ability to learn business process
  • Effective communication skills to include strong verbal and written English skills.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of the organization
  • Business process knowledge
  • Must have extensive computer skills with emphasis in SAP (or another ERP) Must be proficient at data gathering, analysis/evaluation, and efficient use of time
  • Ability to drive change management initiatives

Required Experience

  • B.S. Degree in Supply Chain, Information Systems, or related
  • 3-5 years of experience in data management, supply chain, planning and/or production planning
  • 2-3 years of SAP or ERP
  • Experience with creating and maintaining KPI, dashboard, and other metrics
  • Project management experience
