Job Description

The Director, Data Integrity and Governance (DIG) will develop our overall DIG strategy across the enterprise to lead and manage company-wide Master Data Governance (MDG) activities and be responsible for improving the data literacy, quality and governance of enterprise data through the data lifecycle. You will establish & ensure adherence to an enterprise data governance framework and for operationalizing Master Data Management, Data Access, and other data policies, standards/practices, at the dept and Business and Functional levels to achieve the required level of understanding, consistency, quality & protection to meet overall business needs. 

  • Partner with Data Owners, IT, Integrated Supply Chain and Business leaders to understand the business’s strategic vision, advise in the use of data to drive insights and help in achieving business outcomes.
  • Own, develop, evolve and clearly communicate the DIG vision, mission and purpose; Define, manage and advance enterprise master data management principles, policies and programs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders such as IT and business functions, develop a roadmap, investment plan & corresponding business cases and implementation plans to meet current and future Information Management and Analytics needs.

Data Integrity and Governance Management: Establish & govern an enterprise MDG roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities. Establish the vision for managing master data as a business asset.  Develop methods to ensure ‘single source of truth’ for key data attributes that will provide consistency across all business unit processes. Develop standards, policies & procedures to support the creation of a MDG policy within the business; Provide technical assurance for the on-going implementation & maintenance of the governance policy. Facilitate the development & implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards & adoption requirements across the enterprise; Develop, improve & maintain controls to improve data quality, ownership, accountability and reliability. Define indicators of performance and quality metrics & ensure compliance with data related policies, standards, roles & responsibilities, & adoption requirements. Assure the deployment & management of data quality monitoring practices; Measure master data for compliance to policy, standards & conceptual models.

People Management: Organize & lead a data governance council to provide leadership & sponsorship for & oversight of governance policy creation & compliance. Lead DIG Team including offshore team to ensure data governance policies & practices are embedded throughout the company. Liaison between Business & Functional areas ensuring data related business requirements including protecting sensitive & regulated data are clearly defined/considered as part of operational prioritization & planning. Supervise info stewardship activities & management of data quality, collection, retention, and purposes of use

Required Skills

Knowledge of: SAP ecosystem and corresponding master data requirements including business partners, materials and finance objects; Salesforce.com and the integration with SAP desirable; Information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, agile and lean methodologies and infrastructure and operations a plus; Data structure, information systems/tools, related software and data management; Enterprise B2B business processes and resultant information needs

Required Experience

  • BS in CS, computer engineering, data science, information science or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years' experience in SAP Data Management; 10+ years leadership experience leading cross-functional teams and enterprise wide programs; Experience integrating complex processes and info strategies

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS degree; experience with SAP MDG; broad experience in multiple competency areas of data and analytics delivery
