Job Description

 Grace is seeking an Operations Supervisor to join our Hydro Processing Operations Team! This role reports to the ART Operations Manager located at our Curtis Bay Facility. This position will be responsible for overseeing the operation and safety of its employees during both day and night shift.


  • Analyze production to estimate worker hours and create production schedules that meet both internal and external needs.
  • Responsible for start-up, shutdown and normal process operation to include manual operation of the process using field controls.
  • Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety standards.
  • Directs response to emergency situations to include emergency shutdown procedures.
  • Supervise, coach, train, and counsel operations personnel in the assignment of duties.
  • Inspect and measure product to verify conformance to specifications. Utilize quality control system, SPC and response charts to implement corrective actions.
  • Guides workers in adjusting equipment and processes to correct products which fail to meet quality standards.
  • Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Complete weekly hourly work schedule and overtime signup.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards and promote housekeeping procedures.
  • Complete all regulatory testing and conduct safety meetings for operations personnel as required.
  • Enter SAP notifications as required for maintenance. TECO completed work orders. Participate in maintenance planning process.
  • Inform operations personnel of planned maintenance by action as a liaison between maintenance and operations through effective communication. Assist with operations preparations for maintenance outages.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department.
  • Analyze and resolve production issues to include enforcing labor relation's policies and resolving grievances.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2+ year’s supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Must be able to work 12-hour shift work to include both days, nights and weekends.
  • Experience with interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning and assigning work.
  • Previous experience with performance appraisal performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and conflict resolution.
    • Ability to guide and motivate employees
  • Demonstrated ability to act in a safe manner and teach employees on safety standards;  Address hazards, deviations, and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to interface with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
