Job Description

 Grace is hiring an Operations Planner who will support the execution of key supply chain activities at our Curtis Bay, MD, plant. In this role you will be responsible for the following:  


  • Performs all MRP related functions including production planning / master data management in SAP
  • Develops integrated daily and weekly production schedules while considering: Maintenance Schedule, Engineering Plan, Staffing & Training Plans, Quality & Rework Plans, Logistics
  • Manages inventory for finished goods, based on demand, actual orders, network lead times, and available inventory
  • Balances the required and available materials to optimize service, working capital and material costs given network lead times, order quantities and so on
  • With input from Supply Planning an Operations, balances the required and available capacity to optimize service, working capital and capacity costs
  • Integrates with maintenance to finalize weekly and daily scheduled work
  • Coordinate plant grade changes, shutdowns, and startups
  • Responsible for interplant and bid location transactions 
  • Serves as a backup resource for other site MRP Controllers
  • Assist with month end inventory reconciliation and closing
  • Orders area specific production supplies and consumables
  • Works with Area Operations Lead and other key people in the department to develop integrated daily and weekly production schedules based on customer priorities and maximize output as required
  • Coordinates the impact of production plan changes with other site functions
  • Maintains in process inventory of materials
  • Raw material inventory management. Order raw materials as required
  • Supports safety initiatives in the plant
  • Supports and conducts training activities and initiatives
  • Performs other duties as required

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of 3+ years of experience in an industrial setting where Material Requirements Planning has been implemented
  • Strong experience executing MRP transactions (preferably in SAP)
  • Excellent communications skills 
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to resolve supply chain issues both independently and with appropriate resources efficiently and effectively
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (WORD and EXCEL)
  • Must be able to maintain focus on Safety and Environmental in all activities and wear requisite PPE

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a supply chain discipline
  • APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP)
