Job Description

The Oregon plant of W. R. Grace & Co. manufactures fine chemicals for a broad range of pharma, biotech and nutraceutical customers and specialty catalysts for polyefins and speciality chemicals. We are currently seeking a QC Analyst to enhance our dynamic team. This position is responsible for a broad range of analytical testing in supporting QC, manufacturing and the R&D lab.

Job Description and Essential Functions:

  • Analyzing raw material and finished products
  • Handle in-process testing with good understanding of the reactions running spikes
  • Analyze the finished products testing with client specifications and client’s methods
  • Follows standard operating procedures for testing
  • Maintain and run instruments as per supplier instructions or laboratory procedures
  • Keep well-maintained records for good documentation
  • Follow good lab habits according to GLP and safety regulations
  • Set up instruments 
  • Record all the data on worksheets and instruments logs
  • Keep the instruments clean and in good working order
  • Work any shift or off-hour shift as per requirements of the company
  • Interact and support production, R&D, and management

Required Skills

  • Good ability to run computers for handling instruments and performing simple operation
  • Good work ethic and high professional standard is shown to perform the job properly
  • Ability to give results in a professional manner
  • Ability to comply with all applicable regulatory requirements as needed by the company
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills

Required Experience

Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of experience, or community college with 6 years of experience, or MS with 0 – 1 year of experience.

Extended experience with HPLC, GC, TLC, FTIR, Optical rotation, Melting point, Moisture Analyzer, Rotor evaporator, Balances, Spectrophotometer and Oven.

Experience in a pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing environment a plus.
