Job Description

Responsible for ensuring the import and export of products and materials complies with the regulation within the EMEA. Application of compliance procedures and guidelines that will assure compliance with import and export regulations, executing audit, risk assessment programs and risk management programs.

Responsibilities

•    Complying with all internal and external safety regulations pertaining to environmental protection and occupational & traffic safety according to the Grace EHS system and directly pointing out identified mistakes or wrong behavior.
•    Support EMEA plants in Tariff Classification, assure that all Grace products used in EMEA are correctly coded, maintained and used.
•    EMEA responsible person for Denied Party Screening and issue resolution based on SAP GTS and Grace TC (Trade Compliance) rules and procedures.
•    Monitor changes in Trade Compliance legislation, liaise with Product Stewardship Function and validate and communicate those throughout the Grace organization.
•    Act as focus point for TC related questions and issues and liaise with TC colleagues in other regions to support the business units getting timely resolutions.
•    Monitor and audit existing TC procedures in EMEA and enhance where needed with the aim for one common documentation and processing standard. Develop and improve logistics processes in Trade Compliance to minimize Grace total cost of ownership.
•    Act as a key knowledge point for all trade compliance issues and take a lead in the training and development of key stakeholders.
•    Drive and implement process excellence in Trade Control based on latest market standards and open to implement technical solutions to increase efficiency and reliability.
•    Lead and implement local and regional Trade Compliance related projects ensuring stakeholder management and project plan fulfilment. 
•    Work and contribute to global projects.
•    Process imports and transit shipments and co-ordinate the on-going transports and custom clearance with forwarders, agents, customers, and sales. Clarify problems related to shipments and keep sales and customers informed.
•    Determine and monitor the preferential status of products manufactured and sold by Grace EMEA in line with valid Grace -, legal – and Custom’s regulations. Process and organize LTSDs for such products and provide these documents to customers.
•    Process Intrastat Declarations for Export and together with Finance the declarations for imports for related EU-business.
•    Be the Logistics contact person for the Custom’s authorities as well as for audits, responsible for Export Declarations and proof linked to VAT and Customs regulations.
•    And all issues related to AEO. Co-ordinate these issues within the department.
•    Be responsible for the Custom’s authorizations and permits for the Grace sites of responsibility to cover e.g., the Approved Importer/Exporter, “Active Veredelung”, AEO and “Ermächtigter Ausführer”.
•    Be a key user and key contact person for SAP GTS and ATLAS System in EMEA.

Required Qualifications

•    Master's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent in International Business (Verkehrsfachwirt/-in oder Betriebswirt/-in), Business Administration, Business Informatics or commercial training, preferably as a freight forwarder or equivalent with relevant work experience in customs
•    5-7 years of work experience as Trade Compliance Specialist or Expert in a manufacturing company in an international environment 
•    Expert knowledge of the qualification of goods within the framework of various free trade agreements, customs coordination, and tariff reduction programs 
•    Ability to lead projects and tasks of significant complexity, both locally and regionally in scope and impact
•    Strong analytical skills, results orientation, and strong sense of accountability.
•    Ability to work and implement measures independently in a complex environment. 
•    Advanced quantitative skills with knowledge of data analysis (SAP/GTS), modeling (MS Excel,) and presentation (MS PowerPoint)
•    Project management and leadership experience.
•    Fluent written and spoken German and English round off your profile (other languages German desirable)
