Job Description

Grace is searching for a System Admin - End User Computing/Communications professional.  This role is responsible for the operation and support of Information Technology services at one or more Grace manufacturing/office locations in the region as directed by the IT Manager Service Delivery, NA.  Role will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of Information Technology to ensure compliance and consistency with all company policies, processes, procedures and other standards and regulations.  This role will support the Pasadena, TX, plant location, Houston, TX downtown and warehouse locations and other regional locations as directed. 

Responsibilities

  • PC’s, peripherals, software, local area networks, PBX’s, and phones.  Includes all personal computers, servers (physical/virtual), printers, portable devices, infrastructure software, and Cisco network equipment.
  • Responsible for configuring, testing, and installing new desktops, notebooks, switches, access points, and phones.
  • Assist with the testing and installation of new or upgraded versions of software.
  • Local telecommunication services coordination and management of those services.  This includes telephone systems, mobile phones, handheld radios, data communications, voice mail, paging, modem, and fax services.  Services must be coordinated with the appropriate functional owners of the service within the company.
  • Support of laboratory systems and associated equipment to include troubleshooting and configuration of laboratory equipment.
  • Support for Avaya PBX installs/maintenance and circuit installs, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Participation in IT and site projects.
  • Travel to downtown Houston office and Houston Warehouse as required.
     

Physical Requirements and Environment

  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator

Required Qualifications

  • Requires minimum 5-7 years’ experience installing, configuring, and maintaining Intel based PCs, Servers & Cisco Network equipment. 
  • Preferred bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Experience in SAN, VMware, Xerox Printers, Avaya PBX, VoIP, Smartphones, and Veeam.  
  • Broad range of experience should include extensive knowledge of Intel based hardware; Microsoft based operating systems (Windows 11, Server 2016, 2019 and 2022) and Office software (Office 2016/O365). 
  • Cisco networking technologies (switches and Meraki access points).
  • Voice and data cabling experience (Cat 5, Cat 6, and fiber).
  • Extensive knowledge of Information Technology deployed in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work independently within tight deadlines and balance workload effectively.
  • Ability to work in a team environment to complete projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and documentation skills. 
  • Results oriented and can demonstrate a ‘can-do’ attitude, adaptability, flexibility, and creativity.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal skills and the ability to communicate clearly.
  • Ability to recognize and pursue opportunities to improve processes and services.
  • Demonstrate the ability to “think out of the box” when solving complex service problems.
