Job Description

W.R. Grace is hiring a Production Engineer to work at our Lake Charles, LA manufacturing site who will report to our Operations Manager. As a Production Engineer you will be responsible for providing line process operating support to ensure the achievement of our production goals as outlined below:

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots process/ production issues
  • Provides Operations Supervisor’s first line of support for solving process management issues
  • Owns and drives quality improvement projects
  • Manages & improves area operator control plans, SOPs
  • Works with ASC to resolve discrepancies for on-time shipments
  • Supports month end closing processes and customer interactions (complaints, audits & onsite visits)
  • Supports & facilitates RCAs and training of site personnel
  • Conduct Management of Change (MOCs) Conduct Process Hazard Analysis (PHAs) including GMP and PSSR and Commissioning and Startup Activities and daily plant inspections and walkthroughs and OIRs and incident investigations and data sourcing and analysis
  • Redlines Engineering Drawings and Documents
  • Manages and catalogs engineering documents and drawings (P&ID, MOC, Interlock Sched, etc.)

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering or another engineering discipline
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant experience, preferably working in a chemical or petrochemical environment

Physical Requirements

Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
