Pharmaceutical Application Specialist

Job Description

W.R. Grace is hiring a Pharmaceutical Applications Specialist to Support the Materials Technologies business in various R&D projects by performing laboratory work in making and testing new materials for pharmaceutical applications. This job is based out of Hyderabad, India. 

Responsibilities

• Assists scientists with a variety of laboratory tasks
• Performs chemical and/or physical analyses or scientific tests using both routine and special techniques in compliance with all safety standards
• Collects, analyzes and processes laboratory samples
• Records results of tests, organizes data, performs basic computations, and prepares reports and analyses using standard procedures and guidelines
• Active participation in required local safety program, along with the ability to work safely and maintain a clean and orderly lab environment. 
• Installs, operates, maintains, and repairs laboratory test equipment, apparatus, systems, and supplies
• Analyze the problem and propose a design of experiments that would help solve the problem
• Develop analytical methods in accordance with US pharmacopoeia protocols
• Analyze the experimental data and prepare necessary charts for documentation 
• Present the results to internal and external audiences
• Should be able to train Channel Partners

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Pharmacy/Chemistry, or related technical field
• 7+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry
• Experience in pharma formulations and analytical skills is a plus
• Knowledge of basic chemical and/or pharmaceutical principles.  Strong knowledge of basic pharma laboratory techniques and drug formulations is preferred
• Familiarity with computer programs such as MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to work well in a team setting
• Candidate should have good interpersonal skills and exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Ability to work with minimum supervision
• Be able to communicate with other functions, including sales force and marketing on regular basis
• English language proficiency
